Felicty... Something clicked with this drawing. It just felt... different... to me. I did a lot of work on parts that I usually ignore, or just glaze over, like the folds in his jacket. But it was more than that it just feels RIGHT somehow. I dunno. Don't you have days where you feel like the lines coming out of your pen are capturing something beyond what they normally do?
Thanks to everyone who has commented, btw. I'm very flattered.
Thanks Cully for answering. Yes, I think I understand - I just wish it would happen more often to me! I love the cross hatching in the latest one (the hands on the bag). I wish I was brave enough to try this - I often think of you when I'm sitting on the bus!
It looks terrific Cully. You should be pleased with yourself. :o)
HI Cully, Nice job. you can feel this guy's fatigue. perfect.
Great details and a very strong connection that doesn't rely on eye contact to carry it. Nicely done.
p.s. fraggle rock the movie? i hadn't heard, but thanks for the head's up!
Not good, Cully - FANTASTIC!!!! TOOTING YOUR HORN, MY FRIEND!!! BRAVA!!!!!
Oh, Cully, this is marvelous! Wonderful!
This is so good! You really managed to capture the guy´s pose through the folds in his clothes - that´s a tricky one. Well done!
I do think you did a really good job on the folds and I think you really got the guy's mood across to the viewer.
Beautifully done. I can see why you're proud of this one.
Fabulous!
Superb sketch Cully, and so you should be proud of this piece.
Amazing sketch
I think all of your subway sketches are fabulous, I'm interested in why you felt that way about this one? Hope you don't mind me asking.
BTW, I agreed with almost all the things on your list 8 - especially 19 and 30!
